DW Request Importer
DW Request Importer
For years, DocuWare Request was the way to pass on archive content: an export including a Windows search interface that let auditors or partners browse documents — without any DocuWare. But the product is being discontinued, and anyone holding old Request archives today faces a problem: they can no longer be re-imported into current DocuWare versions. Our DW Request Importer solves exactly that — it imports Request archives back into DocuWare, no matter how old they are.

The problem — and our solution
What DocuWare Request was
An export of DocuWare content including a Windows search interface: search dialog with full-text search, document display in the original format. Popular for handing content to auditors, for business handovers or as an offline copy.
The problem: discontinued and stuck
DocuWare Request is being discontinued — no support, no further development. Request archives created under old DocuWare versions often can no longer be re-imported into current systems. The documents are stuck in a format nobody will be able to open.
The solution: import — no matter how old
Our DW Request Importer imports Request archives back into DocuWare without trouble: documents including index data. The age of the Request archive is irrelevant — even content from long discontinued DocuWare versions arrives cleanly.
Flexible target version
The DocuWare target version should be reasonably current — that is the standard case. On request we also support earlier target versions.

Frequently asked questions
What was DocuWare Request, exactly?
A DocuWare product for exporting archive content including a Windows search interface: search dialog with full-text search and document display in the original format. It was popular for handing content to auditors or third parties — but is being discontinued and no longer developed.
Our Request archives come from an ancient DocuWare version — does this still work?
Yes. The age of the Request archive does not matter to us — the importer also processes content created under long discontinued DocuWare versions.
Which DocuWare target version do we need?
The target version should be reasonably current. On request we also support earlier target versions — just talk to us.
Is the index data preserved?
Yes — the import brings documents including index data back into DocuWare. Afterwards your documents are fully searchable again and usable in workflows.
